Bidhannagar Police Files Charge Sheets Against Ex-Civic Leaders for Extortion

Kolkata: A day after filing charge sheet against former MLA Sabyasachi Dutta, Bidhannagar Police on Thursday submitted a 150-page charge sheet against former Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation councillor Debraj Chakraborty over allegations including extortion and operating a syndicate network.
Debraj, husband of former Rajarhat-Gopalpur Trinamool MLA Aditi Munsi, has been charged under several stringent sections of BNS. Statements from 11 witnesses have been included. Govt lawyer Bivas Chattopadhyay said that the move was based on sufficient and irrefutable evidence found during the investigation.
