  • Kolkata: Jadavpur University students on Thursday met vice-chancellor Chiranjib Bhattacharjee, asking for an investigation into CM Suvendu Adhikari’s claim that hostel boarders were forced to take part in the protest against the NEET paper leak and make the report public. The CM said he spoke to the JU VC.

Following the students’ demand, the administration spoke to hostel superintendents and found no student had sent any written or verbal complaint on them being forced to be part of the protest.

A student said, “We wanted the report to be made public so that we know on what basis the CM made the claim. But we are told it was an informal report, which could not be made public. So we demanded an inquiry committee with an external member and university professors to probe the incident for the truth to come out.”

VC Bhattacharjee said, “The dean of students gave us a prima facie report. But we will form an official inquiry committee to investigate the matter. No complaint has been lodged.”
