Sebaashray case: Cops serve notice at Abhishek PA’s house

Kolkata: Trinamool MP Abhishek Banerjee’s personal assistant Sumit Roy was served a legal notice at his New Alipore residence by police in relation to alleged non-payment of resort dues linked to Sebaashray. Roy was not at home, and the notice was accepted by his 70-year-old mother.
Responding to police queries, Roy’s mother said she did not know where her son was. “You may dig here and search underground, but I do not know where he is,” she told cops. Asked when she had last been in touch with him, she said there had been no contact for a long time.
The case stems from a complaint filed by the owner of a resort in Bishnupur, who alleged that bills amounting to around Rs 20-22 lakh remained unpaid after the resort was used for an extended period during Sebaashray programme.
The FIR names Abhishek Banerjee, Sumit Roy and Bishnupur MLA Dilip Mondal.
