Police file supplementary chargesheet in Tamanna murder case

Krishnanagar: Police on Tuesday filed a supplementary chargesheet in the Tamanna Khatun murder case before the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s court here. The chargesheet invokes Section 25 of the Arms Act alongside provisions of the BNS and Sections 3 and 4 of the Explosive Substances Act. Advocate Bivas Chatterjee has been appointed special public prosecutor.
The case stems from the June 23, 2025 death of a nine-year-old girl in a crude bomb blast during a post-bypoll victory procession in Kaliganj, Nadia. Currently, 23 accused named in the FIR remain in judicial custody while one is out on bail.
