Asansol Division, under the initiative Operation Nanhe Farishte aimed at ensuring the safety and care of children in railway premises, successfully rescued a minor girl who was found alone at Asansol railway station.
On 29 August, at around 6 p.m, during routine patrolling on Platform No. 5, SI Subhra Dey and the team from West Post/Asansol of the Railway Protection Force noticed a 15-year-old girl moving about in a suspicious manner.
When questioned, she identified herself as Chandni Kumari, daughter of Nakhlal Paswan, a resident of Hiramani, P.O. Mathiya Brit, Chauradano, East Champaran, Bihar. She stated that she had travelled to Muzaffarpur and later to Asansol without informing her family.
Recognising the situation, the RPF team took swift and appropriate action. After completing all necessary formalities, she was safely handed over to the railway child help desk, Asansol, for further support in coordination with child welfare authorities.
