• Pattas and cycles given away in Hooghly

  • A special programme was organised today by the department of land and land reforms and refugee relief and rehabilitation. Around 7,033 agricultural pattas, forest pattas, residential pattas, and unconditional documents for refugees were distributed simultaneously across 14 districts of South Bengal, from East Burdwan district, through virtual means. Several new projects were also inaugurated on the occasion.

    At the programme held at Rabindra Bhavan in Chunchura, government pattas were handed over to many residents of the district. In addition, bicycles were distributed to students.

    Minister Becharam Manna, Hooghly district council president Ranjan Dhara, district magistrate Mukta Arya, several MLAs from Hooghly district, district council superintendents, and other administrative officers were present.

    Minister Manna stated that 180 pattas and Sabuj Sathi cycles were distributed in the district on the initiative of chief minister Mamata Banerjee. He added that this initiative not only provides permanent security to landless and displaced people but also opens new opportunities for students.
