Max temp up by 3°C, Met predicts dry spell till Thurs
Times of India | 10 August 2025
Kolkata: The city remained dry and humid on Saturday even as the maximum temperature spiralled up over three degrees from Friday's 29.2 °C to touch 32.7°C. The mercury could rise further by a degree on Sunday, which too, was expected to remain dry as well, said the Met office. With the monsoon trough having slid north and an upper air circulation, which was predicted to bring widespread rain in south Bengal earlier this week, having moved away, Kolkata and south Bengal could remain relatively dry till Aug 14.
"There is no system to bring rain now. There could be occasional localised showers and drizzles in some parts but we expect no heavy or consistent rain over the next four to five days," said Regional Meteorological Centre weather scientist Sourish Bandopadhyay.
