TMC changes cultural board of Bauri society in Bankura

Eyeing the 2026 Assembly polls in the state in a significant move, the Trinamul Congress has changed the cultural board of the Bauri society. Debdas Bauri, a very influential leader, who was the chairman of the cultural board of Bauri society has been removed, so are the vice-chairman and other members of the board.
A newcomer and political greenhorn, Deepak Kumar Duley has become the new chairman of the cultural board of Bauri Society. Rama Bauri and Debraj Bauri have been appointed as the new joint vice-chairman.
Another 14 members have been inducted in the cultural board of Bauri Society.
Since long time Debdas Bauri was associated with the Trinamul Congress and has also served as the councillor of Bankura Municipality, but recently there have been some charges of alleged corruption and nepotism against him.
Not only the previous chairman had lost his connection with the Bauri Society but allegedly was involved in several graft charges.
The new chairman is not only a politically greenhorn but is also very much popular amongst the Bauri society and he has been entrusted to work with the society so that the members always remain with the TMC even during the next year’s polls. Due to several reasons the Bauri society is unhappy with the ruling party allegedly.
The district magistrate (DM) of Bankura, the district social welfare officer, deputy collector of Bankura is the representative of CRI, and also are the government officials in the board.
