Anti-Bengal sentiment: TMC MPs stage protest in Parliament

Trinamul Congress MPs today staged a demonstration outside the Parliament House to protest against the attack on Bengal and Bengali-speaking migrant workers in different parts of the country.
Trinamul Congress MPs held placards that read “Don’t Insult Bengal”.
Trinamul Congress on its X handle wrote: “Bangla-Birodhi@BJO4India has stooped to disgusting new laws, relentlessly targeting Bengali migrant workers across BJP ruled states and now shamelessly declaring that Bangla is not even a language. This blatant disrespect towards Bengal, its people, and its language will not go unanswered. We will fight this vicious agenda with every ounce of strength.”
The party MPs alleged that a migrant worker from North Dinajpur has returned home with both legs fractured, the result of inhuman police torture from double-engine government in Haryana. “This is state-sponsored violence. This is what BJP’s xenophobic, Bangla-birodhi hate campaign looks like on the ground. We demand immediate arrest of the guilty cops and a public apology from the @NayabSaini BJP led Haryana government.”
Trinamul Congress alleged that after residential certificates were issued to dogs and tractors, an online application for a residence certificate has now been submitted in the name of US President Donald Trump in Samastipur, Bihar. Dr Shashi Panja, minister for women and child development and social welfare alleged that from the Khagaria area of Bihar an application has been submitted online in the name of Lord Ram and his parents’ names have been mentioned Dasarath and Kaushalya. Dr Panja said: “What the Election Commission is doing. The names of genuine voters have been deleted and the names of dogs, tractors and now the name of God have been included in the list of voters,” she said, adding: “The ECI should immediately scrap SIR which is nothing but silent invisible rigging.”
