Kolkata: With the EC asking the state to suspend two WBCS officers, the WBCS (Executive) Officers' Association on Wednesday wrote to the chief secretary, seeking his intervention in the matter. The EC had also requested the chief secretary to initiate departmental proceedings and lodge FIRs against the officers. "While the association unequivocally upholds the importance of maintaining the sanctity and integrity of the electoral process... we also believe that any administrative action — particularly that which affects the service records and morale — ought to be considered within a framework of fairness, due diligence, and proportionality," the letter read.
