Kolkata: Calcutta High Court on Thursday directed Jadavpur University's pro-VC to convene an executive council meeting to discuss the installation of CCTVs and other related matters within four weeks.In an affidavit, the university disclosed to the division bench of Justice Soumen Sen and Smita Das De the reasons for not being able to install the CCTV and other related matters. "The university has been without a permanent VC for two years," the bench noted.The judge directed the pro-VC to convene the meeting and held: "Any financial grant receivable from the state shall be released by govt within a reasonable time to enable the university to function smoothly and implement various measures, including security measures, to maintain its academic excellence and reputation."
