Kolkata: State education minister Bratya Basu on Tuesday urged protesting teachers not to take any impulsive decision and follow the Supreme Court order. "As far as I know, the portal has received many applications. Those teachers who do not want to appear for an exam should get in touch with the Supreme Court. We are following the apex court orders and are compelled to work following its directions. I would urge them not to take any impulsive decision but to abide by the Supreme Court order so that we can also help them," Basu said. The online application portal for fresh recruitment of teachers in state-aided schools for Class 11 to 12 was opened on Monday. However, the protesting teachers have declared that they will not participate in this recruitment process. They have demanded their jobs back without appearing for an exam.
