Kalimpong: Two bodies were found on Sunday and Monday in North Sikkim near the site of the Army camp in Chaten, which was swept away in a landslide following heavy rainfall in the region last week.The first body, found near a river close to the camp on Sunday, was identified as that of Army jawan Sainudheen PK. The second body, that of a woman, was found on Monday in the same area. The body is yet to be identified. Mangan SP Sonam Ditchu Bhutia said, "Communication is limited in the area, so identification is taking time." The bodies will be sent to Siliguri for postmortem.With the two deaths, the toll from landslides has now risen to five. Three people, Lance Naik Manish Thakur, Havaldar Lakhwinder Singh and porter Abhishek Lakhada, were found dead in the aftermath of the landslide. Five people — Lt Colonel Pritpal Singh Sandhu, his wife Squadron Leader (retd) Aarti Sandhu, their daughter Amaya Sandhu, Subedar Dharamveer and Naik Sunilal Muchahary — are still missing.Officials said the woman's body could either be that of the Lt Colonel's wife or daughter.
