123 Kolkata: Trinamool Congress on Sunday threatened to take to the streets in protest against junior Union minister and Bengal BJP president Sukanta Majumdar following his disparaging remarks against CM Mamata Banerjee. The party was responding to comments made by Majumdar after PM Narendra Modi's rally in Alipurduar on Thursday. At a press conference at Netaji Indoor Stadium, state finance minister Chandrima Bhattacharya targeted Union home minister Amit Shah, saying: "You don't even know the name of BJP's state president. He couldn't even pronounce his surname. The way their state president (Majumdar) has insulted women and the CM, you are aware of the details — I demand his resignation. We strongly condemn the disparaging remarks he made about CM's photo — remarks we cannot even repeat. We demand his resignation. Such language is not appropriate for someone holding a position in the HRD department."TMC MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar said, "The women of Bengal will give a fitting response to this insult. They will take to the streets. Only then will you understand what mistake you've made."
