  • 1234 Kolkata: Ten marks have been allocated for ‘lecture demonstrations' and 10 for ‘teaching experience' have been introduced in the new exam module, meant for the recruitment of state school teachers, which was rolled out on Friday. The new categories have been created to give some edge to the teachers from the 2016 SSC recruitment panel, who lost their jobs after the Supreme Court order, over freshers at the exam, the online application for which will be open from June 16 till July 14.The age cap for candidates has been relaxed to 40 years, according to the order on the fresh selection process for assistant teachers for classes 9-12.CM Mamata Banerjee had earlier indicated that in the new exam rules, marks would be awarded for interviews, lecture demonstrations and teaching experience and all eligible candidates who appeared for interviews would be included. The modifications align with Supreme Court's judgment issued in April and the subsequent order on April 17. The SSC on Friday filed an affidavit in the SC, informing it about the roll-out of the new exam module, according to its order. The second State Level Selection Test 2025 will be held on a 60-mark OMR-based written test and 40 marks will be for other criteria. Candidates will be selected based on their scores in the written test, education qualification (10), teaching experience (10), oral interview (10) and lecture demonstration (10). Earlier, 55 marks were for the written test, 35 for qualifications and 10 for personality test. All candidates will be given a copy of their OMR sheets, which they can take away after submitting the original ones. The answer keys, which will be the basis of evaluation, will be published on the website before the results are published and candidates may submit suggestions or objections in five days. Subject-specific expert panels will look into those suggestions.Candidates may view their OMR sheets online by paying a fee. The physical OMR sheets will be disposed of after two years, once the tenure of the exam panel expires, but their digital scanned copies will be retained for 10 years from the time the panel expires. But protesting SSC teachers are upset. Mehebub Mandal of Eligible Teachers' Rights Forum said, "The state seems to be in a hurry to hold the exams. They could invite applications after seeing the outcome of the review plea in the SC." Another teacher, Chinmoy Mandal, said, "Very few relaxations have been granted. How will the teaching experience benefits be determined for affected candidates?"Kolkata: Ten marks have been allocated for ‘lecture demonstrations' and 10 for ‘teaching experience' have been introduced in the new exam module, meant for the recruitment of state school teachers, which was rolled out on Friday.
