Kolkata: A 26-year-old MBA student from Jharkhand on Thursday lodged an FIR, accusing her classmate of assault, molestation, and verbal abuse at her rented Salt Lake accommodation. The complainant had allegedly caught the youth, a Girish Park resident, sending vulgar posts to other girls and demanding their nude photos through his cellphone. When she confronted him over the matter, she was allegedly assaulted.The FIR was registered at Bidhannagar (East) Police Station on Thursday. Cops said they started a probe and sent a notice to the youth asking him to meet the investigating officer at the police station. Cops said the woman would soon record her confessional statement before a magistrate."We booked him under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including Sections 74 (molestation), 79 (verbal abuse), 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), and 351(3) (criminal intimidation)," said a Bidhannagar City Police officer. The woman told cops that she knew the youth for six months.
