  • Kolkata: Former Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh skipped PM Narendra Modi's Alipurduar rally on Thursday, sparking speculations in the political circles. Earlier in the day, the veteran neta said: "Netas have their protocol and have to remain with the PM. I am just a common party worker now, not an office-bearer. I will go to his rally when he comes here.""I have always been with the workers on the ground. I performed my duties. It is up to the party seniors to recognise that. However, that does not change my goals," Ghosh said. While questions about his political future were raised following his Digha Jagannath temple visit, Bengal BJP seniors have been silent about it.Later in the day, state leader of the opposition Suvendu Adhikari said that the Alipurduar party committee would be able to comment on Ghosh's absence. "The Alipurduar committee had organised the rally. Only it can say who had been invited," Adhikari said.
